I am a writer living in the magical city of Lahore. I do some regular mundane stuff like writing and editing, along with some extremely important stuff like raising my three children and taking care of my cat.
I mainly write features/essays and my primary areas of interest are culture, books, the publishing industry, and social issues, among other things. Currently, I am the editor of the Books and Travel pages of The News on Sunday (TNS), a local English weekly magazine.
I am also a highly experienced freelance writer/editor with strong content expertise. I mostly dabble in the following areas:
– Content production and curation
– Editing/proofreading
– Blogging
– WordPress
– Ebook/ghostwriting
My journal, the one that you see on this site, is as journal-ly as you may expect it to be. If you know what I mean? It is mostly about me, people who irritate me or not, stuff that I like or not, and my opinion about life in general and everything that forms a part of it. Like any obedient journal, it occasionally serves as a blank slate for me to practice the art of writing, whenever that happens, that is. Also, like any good journal, it does not have to always make sense to the outside world. I do not journal frequently (a thing that I’d like to change someday) and go on excruciating hiatuses at times. But- I always return.
Apart from doing all the writer-y stuff, I am also your regular book hoarder who likes putting up pictures of her masters (aka books) on Instagram. I’ve been thinking of upping my reading game (for the longest time now), to eventually venture into the big bad world of book reviews. Maybe, I’d finally do it this year, who knows!
For commissions, editing or content production projects, you can contact me directly at wajiha.hyder9@gmail.com. You can also get in touch with me on Twitter or Instagram.
Cheers!
P.S Keep writing. There is lots of eruditeness in your posts.
