Hello!

I am a writer living in the magical city of Lahore. I do some regular mundane stuff like writing and editing, along with some extremely important stuff like raising my three children and taking care of my cat.

I mainly write features/essays and my primary areas of interest are art and culture, gender, social issues and social media, among other things. Currently, I am the editor of the Books and Travel pages of The News on Sunday (TNS), a local English weekly magazine. Apart from that, I am your regular book hoarder who likes putting up pictures of her masters (aka books) on Instagram. I’ve been thinking of upping my reading game (for the longest time now), to eventually venture into the big bad world of book reviews.

Some of my work samples are here. More are available on request. Apart from journalistic writing, I also dabble in blogging, writing e-books, ghostwriting, etc. If you hire me for your next writing/editing project, you can rest assured it’ll be in safe hands!

My blog is mostly about me, people around me, things that I’m passionate about, or not, and my opinion about life in general. It also occasionally serves as a blank slate for me to practice my writing, whenever that happens. I do not update my blog frequently (a thing that I’d like to change) and go on excruciating hiatuses at times. But I always return.

For commissions, freelance editing or content writing projects, you can contact me directly at wajiha.hyder9@gmail.com. You can also follow me on Twitter and Instagram or get in touch with me on Facebook.

Cheers!
